This impact has been made possible through strong partnerships with leading international agencies including UNHCR, UNDP, KfW/PATRIP Foundation, and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA). These collaborations have enabled us to reach remote and crisis-affected communities with innovative and scalable energy solutions.
In addition to infrastructure development, we support community training programs that build local capacity in energy management and maintenance. By empowering individuals with knowledge and technical skills, we ensure the long-term sustainability of energy projects and create employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
Our initiatives also extend to energy access for humanitarian settings, where displaced populations often lack reliable power sources. We integrate clean energy solutions into emergency response programs, ensuring that vulnerable communities have access to essential services even in crisis situations.
Through strategic partnerships with governments, development agencies, and energy experts, ORD Germany gUG works to expand access to clean energy, drive innovation in sustainable power solutions, and create long-lasting benefits for communities in need.

Access to sustainable and affordable energy is essential for economic development, education, and healthcare. Many rural and underserved communities lack reliable electricity, limiting their ability to improve living conditions and economic opportunities. At ORD Germany gUG, we are committed to promoting clean and renewable energy solutions that enhance livelihoods, support essential services, and contribute to environmental sustainability.
Drawing from ORD Afghanistan’s experience in energy infrastructure development, we focus on solar energy, off-grid power solutions, and sustainable energy technologies to meet the needs of marginalized communities. Our programs include the installation of solar-powered water pumps, electrification of schools and healthcare facilities, and the promotion of energy-efficient solutions in rural areas. By investing in renewable energy, we provide sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels, reducing carbon emissions and mitigating the impact of climate change.
To date, we have implemented 23 sustainable energy projects with a total budget of USD 2.23 million, directly benefiting more than 165,000 individuals (approximately 23,000 households). These interventions have significantly improved energy access for underserved populations while fostering environmental resilience and community development.
