Partnership and collaboration are at the heart of our climate agenda. We work alongside governments, civil society, academia, and international development organizations to design and implement evidence-based climate interventions that reflect both scientific insight and local realities.
In addition to on-ground implementation, ORD Germany gUG advocates for inclusive climate policy frameworks that prioritize the voices and needs of the Global South. We emphasize the importance of climate finance, technology transfer, and knowledge sharing as central components in enabling developing countries to meet their climate goals. Our work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to climate action, clean energy, and sustainable communities.

Climate change poses an urgent and far-reaching threat to vulnerable communities, particularly in regions already facing poverty, conflict, and environmental degradation. At ORD Germany gUG, we are committed to addressing the climate crisis through practical, community-based approaches that integrate climate mitigation and adaptation into sustainable development efforts.
Our climate action initiatives are built upon the deep operational experience of ORD Afghanistan, where climate-resilient development has been an essential part of programming. We focus on empowering communities in fragile and developing regions to respond to climate challenges with effective tools, knowledge, and infrastructure.
A key element of our approach is supporting the development of local climate adaptation strategies, which include improved water resource management, sustainable agricultural practices, and nature-based solutions to prevent land degradation. These interventions are designed not only to respond to existing climate impacts but also to build long-term resilience against future risks.
We are also actively involved in promoting low-carbon and renewable energy solutions, particularly in off-grid and rural communities. Through the implementation of solar energy systems and energy-efficient technologies, we reduce dependence on fossil fuels while expanding access to clean energy—advancing both environmental and social outcomes.
